The Entrepreneur Sponsorship Advantage
Sponsors – We Couldn’t Do This Without You!
Be the Entrepreneur Bootcamp™ (BTE Bootcamp™), presented by the Palouse Knowledge Corridor, is an example of the entrepreneur sponsorship advantage. Sponsors help jump-start and accelerate the growth of emerging and early-stage businesses. These new companies will go on to benefit society by delivering beneficial products and services, provide living wage employment, and support their communities in a diversity of ways. We have been able to provide the advantage of scholarships to all enrolled entrepreneurs and make the public events free for a 5-day intensive Bootcamp, because of sponsorships.
Local sponsors help grow our regional entrepreneurial ecosystem. The attorney, accountant, realtor, and banker who underwrite the Bootcamp “pay it forward” and directly create and support new customers for other businesses. Regional government sponsorships also promote local economic development without the added cost of recruiting companies to their areas.
On the Palouse, we are in the unique position of having two research universities less than 10 miles apart across the Washington/Idaho state line, generating evidence-based intellectual property with business potential and integrated into a highly educated and creative populace able to recognize new business opportunities.
The BTE Bootcamp™ regional and national sponsors not only contribute money, they also generously offer their time and expertise. Acting as mentors and coaches themselves, direct interactions with the campers may be their first contact leading to a much longer relationship. Sponsors also have the opportunity to interact with over 50 volunteers serving as instructors, coaches, and mentors, as well as the general public who attend the two free community events. This quality exposure grows their presence and customer base in the region.
Sponsors – Building The Palouse’s Future
All sponsors are acknowledged in the Bootcamp materials, which are distributed in a variety of media to local and state government officials, businesses, and economic development organizations in Idaho, Washington, Alaska, Montana, and Utah.
Without sponsorships, the Bootcamp would not be possible. Although there are designated levels of support and opportunities, every gift is welcome. One of the greatest values of participating in the BTE Bootcamp™, according to the campers, is the expansion of their network through the contacts made during the 5 days. The synergistic relationship the emerges between sponsors and campers benefits our region’s economic health, government services, business climate and overall attractiveness to new families, students, and future leaders.
“The Palouse Knowledge Corridor appreciates the continuing support of key sponsors of the Be the Entrepreneur Bootcamp™, which include the Latah County Commissioners, University of Idaho, Pullman Regional Hospital, and Stoel Rives,” said Gene Merrell, Be the Entrepreneur Bootcamp™ Co-Chair.
“These and the many other contributors, whether cash or in-kind, have helped the Bootcamp continue to provide the campers scholarships and an outstanding value. In 2015, over 50 instructors, coaches, mentors, and camp leadership volunteered their time and expertise to accelerate the success of the Bootcamp’s 15 companies.”
