Outdoor Recreation Track
A.K.A Rec Tech
Entrepreneurs at this year’s Be the Entrepreneur Bootcamp™ (BTE Bootcamp™) with interests in the Outdoor Recreation industry, also known as Rec Tech, will have a dedicated track focusing on the unique opportunities and challenges of this exciting sector.
Since the inception of the BTE Bootcamp™ we have focused on the three industry tracks of Agriculture, Health, and Technology. New for 2016, the Outdoor Recreation track has been added to the BTE Bootcamp™. Since the inception of the BTE Bootcamp™ we have focused on the three industry tracks of Agriculture, Health, and Technology.
New for 2016, the Outdoor Recreation track has been added to the BTE Bootcamp™ as a recognition of our region’s business opportunities and expertise in all things “Cabela’s and REI” — hunting and fishing, snowmobiling, munitions, boat building, camping, trail guiding and anything to do with outdoor leisure activities.
One of the ways that the Be The Entrepreneur Bootcamp™ distinguishes itself from other entrepreneur training venues is our industry specialization. We don’t try to provide training for every industry. Instead, we specialize and focus on industries which are part of our already successful regional industry clusters.
As part of the BTE Bootcamp™ we bring in industry experts, from each of our focused business clusters, to share their experiences and provide mentoring expertise. Our BTE Bootcamp™ instructors and mentors represent the best in business, research, education, economic development, and technology from a two-university and industry-heavy region. Past attendees have appreciated this focused insight and networking opportunities.
BTE Bootcamp™ Co-Chair Francis Benjamin said about the new track:
“I am excited about the addition of the Outdoor Recreation track. The merging of technology with the traditional recreation industry, also known as RecTech, has created innovative new products and opportunities. The BTE Bootcamp‘s ™ Outdoor Recreation track is designed to meet the needs of both the technological innovations and the traditional recreation companies. This new track will also provide an incredible opportunity for developing and pivoting recreation businesses.”
The 2017 BTE Bootcamp™ runs May 21-25. Participant applications are now open for individuals who desire to be part of the select 2017 cohort and advance their business goals.
